How Can I Join Post 184?

Dear Veteran or current Armed Forces member:

This is an open invitation to all men and women Veterans and those currently serving in the Armed Forces in the Herndon-Reston area to become a member of the American Legion Post 184 in Herndon. You earned the right through your military service in a time of war when your country needed you most. The eligibility dates are as follows:

ELIGIBILITY  DATES 

April 6th, 1917- Nov. 11, 1918

Dec. 7th, 1941--------Dec. 31, 1946

June 25th, 1950------------Jan. 31, 1955

Dec. 22nd, 1961------------------May 7th, 1975

Aug. 24th, 1982--------------------------July 31, 1984

Dec. 20th, 1989----------------------------Jan. 31st, 1990

Aug. 2nd, 1990-cessation of hostilities as determined by the US Government

If you have moved and are already a member, it is a simple task to transfer you to our post. The American Legion National Headquarters prefers you transfer to a local post.

Post 184, now in its 18th year of operation, has close to 300 members and meets at the Herndon Moose Hall (in the meeting room at the rear of the Lodge) the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Dues for the year are only $26.00. If you have already paid your current yearly dues it costs you nothing to transfer.
